Today the WWF organizes the Earth Hour, where participants shut their light off for an hour. Something that would nicely fit into the daylight saving system. By adjusting those hours globaly in accordance with the UN.

Daylight Savings + Earth Hour : I was wondering if the Daylight Savings could be globaly adjusted to a somewhat earlier time that would allow people to easily combine both. And giving them back a night of darkness where they can once again learn to enjoy their surroundings without all the electric lights we've grown accustomed too.
